Erasmus+ Harmony Digital Storytelling Competition’s Winners Announced
Center for Critical and Qualitative Studies (CQS), ULAB announced the Erasmus+ HARMONY Digital Storytelling Competition winners on April 2, 2023.
The competition aimed to promote cultural understanding and diversity by inviting students to submit their digital stories that highlighted their intercultural experiences. This was organized as a part of ULAB’s partnership in the Erasmus+ HARMONY project. The submissions were judged on their creativity, originality, relevance, and impact in promoting intercultural awareness.
A three-member judges panel comprising Prof Sumon Rahman (Director, CQS), Jennifer Hossain (Director, International Affairs), and AFM Moniruzzaman Shipu (Assistant Professor, MSJ) selected three best stories among 15 entries. These are
1. The Solitary Reaper, by Md Tushar Khan (ULAB ID - 171012051)
2. My Journey to a New City, by Sing Mong Prue Marma (ULAB ID- 221054002)
3. The Gift, by Samantha Khan Era (ULAB ID - 223012006)
Special mention: Dive into Diversity, by Afia Irfan (ULAB ID - 222011224), and Foreigner, by Saima Nasrin (ULAB ID - 213012002)
The selected participants who are receiving an opportunity to participate in a 2-week Student Bootcamp sponsored by the Erasmus+ HARMONY project at the Varna University of Management, Bulgaria are
1. Md Tushar Khan,
2. Sing Mong Prue Marma, and
3. Afia Irfan (since Samantha Khan Era is unable to travel abroad at this moment)
The organizers of the competition congratulated the winners and thanked all the participants for their contributions to promoting intercultural understanding. This competition emphasized the importance of digital storytelling as a tool for bringing people from different backgrounds closer together and breaking down cultural barriers.
