Community Takes a Stand Against Misinformation in Lonai, Chandina, Cumilla

On 11 June, 2025 FactWatch successfully organized a community discussion and fact-checking training session in Lonai, Chandina, Cumilla, as part of its nationwide grassroots campaign to build resilience against misinformation.

The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders including teachers, journalists, social workers, students, and youth leaders.

The session focused on raising awareness around misinformation, promoting fact-checking practices, and encouraging critical thinking and responsible digital behavior. FactWatch Digital Ambassador Nadia Sultana delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of media literacy at the community level. She also played a leading role in mobilizing local participants and facilitating dialogue among various community actors.

Participants expressed strong interest in continuing the conversation and adopting digital safety and fact-checking tools in their daily lives.

The session marks another step in FactWatch’s mission to empower communities with the skills and knowledge needed to identify and resist misinformation.
